New York - Katharinenball

Hi!
Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Tracy Elizabeth Florio and presently I am the Miss Burgenland representing the Ersten Burgenland Verein aus New York. The Katrina Fest took place in November and that evening was quite memorable for me. It is a great honor for me to come to Burgenland this summer and uphold the traditions of the many other Miss Burgenlands who always return with such wonderful and enlightening stories of their families ‘heimatland.’
I had witnessed a number of Miss Burgenland crownings and it was during these social Burgen-
lander dances that my Oma and Opa managed to teach me how to spin around the dance floor.

My Opa has always had a strong commitment to this club and everything it stands for and I am happy to share this year with both my Oma and Opa. Both of my grandparents were raised in Urbersdorf which is by Gussing. My grandmother’s maiden name is Stranzl and my grandfather’s name is Wukitsevits. We still have many aunts, uncles and cousins living there and I look forward to see them this summer.

Now a little bit about me! I am seventeen years old and a Senior at Christ the King High School in Queens. Presently, we are getting ready for Spring season of Softball and I am the windmill pitcher for the team. I also look forward to our prom in May which is similar to your Maturaballe except without parents. I have applied to a number of colleges for the fall and am awaiting replies to see which direction my future will take me !
Now I will try a few words in German.
