New York - „Miss Burgenland 2009“

My name is Lauren Brancucci. I am 16 years old, and I am a junior at Ardsley High School. During the school year, I am on the varsity swim, cheerleading and lacrosse teams. I also work as a lifeguard and swim instructor. I plan on going to college to become a registered nurse.
I am so honored and proud to be Miss Burgenland 2008/2009.

I have been coming to Burgenlaender dances since I was very little with my parents, Anna Marie and Robert Brancucci and my grandparents, John and Hilda Schuch. My Opa is no longer with us, but I know he would be so proud that I am Miss Burgenland. My Oma is from Tobaj and my Opa is from Kroatisch Tschantschendorf. I’ve been to Burgenland two times. It is so beautiful and I have so much fun there that I never want to leave when it is time to go home. I am glad that I have been able to see where my family is from and to learn their customs and traditions. I also love the food!!

Thank you for the „First Burgenlander Club“ for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I look forward to representing the First Burgenlander Club this year in Burgenland at the picnic in Moschendorf and to staying with my Uncle, Josef Waldhofer’s family this summer.

Es ist wunderschön eine Burgenländerin zu sein!
